Viniyoga is a unique approach to the ancient yogic teachings, developed
by the late Krishnamacharya (teacher to B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois,
among others), and handed down through his son T.K.V. Desikachar.
Some of the distinguishing features of the practice are: dynamic postures;
adaptations of classic postures, making them more accessible to those
with limitations; a variety of breath work integrated into postures; and a
special focus on sequencing of postures. Viniyoga, because it is based on a
therapeutic model, is an extremely effective method for changing the energy
and for working with common aches and pains.
