Community Massage Day is BHHC’s newest weekly offering of clothed table and chair massage in a comfortable group setting. Following in the footsteps of Community Acupuncture and Thai Yoga Massage, which are both traditionally performed in one large room with many clients receiving therapy at the same time, Community Massage is a wonderful way to receive affordable bodywork.
What to expect with a Community Massage: Community Massage is done in BHHC’s beautiful new Community Room. Two massage tables are set up in the room with a paper screen divider between them and up to two clients may be receiving treatment at any given time. The client wears loose, comfortable clothing that allows full range of motion and stretching of the limbs and does not have buttons or buckles that might feel uncomfortable while lying down. Depending on the needs of the client and the specialties of the therapist, a client might receive hot packs, assisted stretches, traditional oil-based techniques, rocking, acupressure or trigger point work, and body mobilization techniques. Sessions can be booked for either 30 minutes or 60 minutes only. Scheduling an appointment in advance is strongly recommended, but walk-ins will be accommodated whenever possible. If the client is new to BHHC, they will be asked to arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out an intake and health forms.
BHHC is proud to offer this newest addition to the menu of affordable services. Found this helpful? See also the article: What is Community Acupuncture?
